Defending champions National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) carved out a nail-biting 5-4 victory over stubborn Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on penalty shootouts after being tied one-all in regulation time to win the title for an overall fifth time as curtain fell on the 65th retired Air Marshal Nur Khan National Hockey Championship at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium, Karachi.
Total 20 teams were seen in action during the championship, which were divided into four groups. Five matches were played daily while the quarterfinals were played on August 1. August 2 was rest day while the semifinals and grand final were held on August 4 (Sunday).
The championship carried prize money of Rs. 5 Millions. The championship were played according to the Tournament Regulations issued by FIH. Departments, regions, and provincial teams were participate in the championship.
