Dewa’s Own qualifies for Treet Polo Cup main Final

Dewa’s Own defeated Artema Medical and through to the main final while Terra Energy beats BBJ Pipes to play the subsidiary final of Treet Polo cup at Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground.

 

With the brilliance of Saqib Khan khakwani, Dewa’s Own were able to beat Artema Medical in a high-voltage encounter. Saqib khakwani remains high scorer for Dewa’s Own, he scored a beautiful hat-trick and overall 5 goals for his team. Murtaza Abbas Naizi contributed a brace while Mumtz Abbas scores 1 goal. In reply, Artema medical started the game with the half goal handicap advantage but did not capitalized the good strategic display of game by Dewa’s Own and lost the match by 8-5½.  Raja Arslan Najeeb hammered 4 goals while Mir Huzaifa scored 1 goal.

Saqib Khakwani started his campaign with a beautiful field goal over Artema medical team. Raja Arslan then banged two goals and took 2½-1 lead. Saqib came back once again and scores another goal to reduce the lead to 2½-2, which was once again increased to 3½-2 by Raja Arslan. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi slammed his first goal to reduce the deficit to 3½-3.

Third chukker was completely controlled by Dewa’s Own as they hammered 4 more goals to take lead to 7-3 ½. Saqib scored a hat-trick and Mustafa Aziz scored 1 goal. Artema medical tried hard to make a comeback and Raja Arslan and Mir Huzaifa scores 2 goals and reduce the lead to 7-5 ½ once again but they did not score any goal after that. In the dying moments of the match, Mumtaz Abbas banged in a tremendous goal to finish the match with Dewa’s Own having 8-5½ lead.

In the first match of the day Terra Energy outclassed BBJ pipes to qualify for the subsidiary final of the event. In the head to head thriller, Terra Energy and BBJ were tied on 4-4 when the final whistle was blown but half goal handicap advantage rescued Terra Energy and they were declared the winners of the game.

Haris Haroon Malik struck twice for the winners while Ahmed Bilal Riaz and Frasat Ali Chatha contributed one goal each. From the losing side, Abdul Rehman Monnoo slammed two goals while Raza Nawaz Tiwana and Atif Yar Tiwana hit one goal apiece.
