Newage clinches the title of Seasons Canola Polo Cup 2017

Bilal Haye scored a hat-trick and emerged as the hero of the day for Newage. He played really well throughout the tournament and also encouraged his teammates in the race of the title and won the tournament for his team Newage. Faisal Shahzad contributed a brace and Adnan Jalil Azam scored 1 goal.

From Terra Energy, Frasat Ali Chatha, Ghulam Mustafa Monnoo, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Ahmed Bilal Riaz hit one goal apiece.

Adnan Jalil Azam the captain of winning team was of the view that “This polo season has thrill in it right from the start and this one too proved a very challenging and enthralling event. All the teams were very strong and they gave each other very tough time. I am glad that my team too performed exceptionally and succeeded in winning all its matches and especially the final. I hope the team will continue to perform well and win maximum number of low and high goal events.”

Guard Group easily outlasted Diamond Paints 9-4 in the subsidiary final. Taimur Ali Malik fired 4 goals for his team. Taimur Mawaz khan also hammered a hat-trick while Ali Elahi scored a brace. From the losing side, Mir Huzaifa and M Usman struck two goals each.

Lt Gen (r) Sikander Afzal was chief guests at the concluding ceremony while Punjab Planning and Chairman Development, M Jahanzeb Khan was guest of honor. In the end, both the guests gave away prizes and trophies to the winners. Seasons Canola CEO M Amir, Brand Manager Syed M Raza, Lahore Polo Club president Irfan Ali Hyder, LPC executive committee members Amir Nawaz Tiwana, Saqib Khan Khakwani, secretary Col (r) Shoaib Aftab, players’ families and polo lovers were also present on the occasion.
