Jubilee Insurance 2nd National Junior Under-16 Snooker Championship 2020 from 4th January

The Jubilee Insurance 2nd National Junior Under-16 Snooker Championship 2020 will take place from January 4th at the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad.

 

Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association in collaboration with Jubilee Insurance is organizing the Jubilee Insurance 2nd National Junior Under-16 Snooker Championship 2020 from January 4th at the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad.

19 Players from four provinces of Pakistan and Islamabad will participate in the championship which are divided into 4 groups. 2 Players from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.

Qualifying rounds will be best of 5 Frames while quarterfinals,  semifinal and final will be best of 7 Frames. Muhammad Hamza Ilyas will be a strong contender as he looks to defend his title.

The winner of the Jubilee Insurance 2nd National Junior Under-16 Snooker Championship 2020 will represent Pakistan in the forthcoming IBSF World Snooker Championship 2020.

The event carries with it a total prize money of rupees 130,000/-.

After the second National U-16 championship, fifth National U-18 championship, 12th National U-21 championship and fourth National Master’s (40+) will be held back to back from Jan 4-23.


All these events will be staged at the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad.

The prize money of the three junior events is Rs 130,000 apiece while Rs 100,000 will be at offer in the master’s.

These events will be followed by the 45th National Snooker Championship which takes place at Karachi Gymkhana from Jan 31 to Feb 12.

It carries a total purse of Rs 272,000 with winner getting Rs 100,000 and runner-up Rs 50,000.

Top 12 cueists of the last year’s third national ranking championship have been directly placed into the country’s premier snooker event.

These include 1-Mohammad Asif, 2-Mohammad Bilal, 3-Asjad Iqbal, 4-Mohammad Sajjad, 5-Sohail Shahzad, 6-Mohammad Ijaz, 7-Babar Masih, 8-Mohammad Naseem Akhtar, 9-Mubashir Raza, 10-Zulfiqar A. Qadir, 11-Abdul Sattar, 12-Haris Tahir.

They will be joined by qualifiers from the four provinces and Islamabad, two wildcards and eight juniors that make the number of participants 61.
