Bahria Club beat tournament favorites, One Unit Club in Shohada-E-Pakistan Basketball Tournament 2019

Bahria Club recorded the biggest upset of the tournament by defeating tournament favorites, One Unit Club by 51-42 in the on-going 2019 Shohada-E-Pakistan Basketball Tournament which is being played at Arambagh basketball court in Karachi.

 

Two more matches were played into the quarterfinal stage of Shohada-E-Pakistan Basketball Tournament 2019 in which the first game witnessed Bahria Club recording the biggest upset of the tournament by defeating tournament favorites, One Unit Club by 51-42. 

It was a stunning win for Bahria Club boys while One Unit Club players were shocked as to why they have had to suffer this fall when they suddenly fell in their performance with less game play.

The top scores for the winning team were: Aun Muhammad who scored the game high 25 points with well assistance from Mohsin Gujjar who managed to dub 15 points along side Taimur Shahid, who contributed with 10 points. 

While on the losing side, Tashfeen Zaidi was the top scorer with his (17 successful shots point and other team members: Talal and Kashif Sarwri, each scored 10 points. 

Neighborhood Club ended the second clash of the day in their favor by beating Nishter Club with a big margin of 47-38.

As always, the Chinese player of their team, Chenway scored the highest for them with 15 points while Raja Zahid was two points behind him, scoring 13 points. Abdullah Khan scored 10 points. 

For the loser team, Muhammad Shabbar, Haroon and Asad scored 14, 10 and 10 points, respectively.  

Former Karachi Basketball Club Captain, Victor John was the chief guest who witnessed these two game and said he was impressed by the fine display of the players and termed it a good augury for the future of the basketball in the country.

“Karachi has bright future in basketball and credit goes to Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) for the promoting the game at grass root level." he appreciated.
