Nishter & One Unit Club win in 3rd Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament
Nishter Club and One Unit Club defeated their respective opponents in the most recent matches played into 3rd Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament which is being held at Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
In first match of the day Nishter basketball team outplayed their rivals Usman basketball team by 39-38 in a close fight and ended the game in their favor which booked them a place further into the tournament.
Players from both teams seem to equalize the scoreline one after the other shoot but as the match proceeded, Usman Club team boys took the pressure put on to them by the super fit Nishter Club players as they dominated the game at the end.
Talha Amjad proved as a key player for the winning team as he dunked 12 points right through the basket with quiet well assists by his team mate, Shabbar Ahmed who managed to score 11 points. More points from Muhammad Furqan also contributed in the big win for Nishter team.
For the losing side, Hasan Iqbal and Shariq Sulaman with 11 points and Hamza Khawaja's 9 points contributed well but the team still could not win the game.
While in the other game, One Unit Basketball Club also finished the match in their favor ending the encounter as a one-sided affair on a 61-48 score line.
The winning team crushed the Arambagh Club's players hopes to to win the game by putting the opponents in pressure through Rana Muhammad Athar who scored 29 points for his team with his excellent passing and dipping skills. Whereas Danish Beg with 18 and Nihal with 09 successful shots also helped their team earn the victory of the match.
Ubaid Hafeez and Salah Ud Din from Arambagh Club managed to score 16 and 10 points.
Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Welfare Association (PSWA) have organized the 3rd Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament which is featuring 13 prominent teams of the city which include: Neighbourhood Club, Omega Club, Banoria Club, One Unit, KBC, Arambagh Club, Licoler Ballerz, Bounce Sports, Beacon Club, Nishter Club, Hunters and Usman Club.
