Usman Club dominates 3rd Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament opener

Patrician Stars fell to Usman Club by 46-48 in the opening match of the 2019 Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament which is being played at Arambagh basketball court in Karachi.

 

Usman Basketball Club and Patrician Stars Basketball Club were the first two teams battling for the win in which Hassan Iqbal's 14 points guided Usman Basketball Club to win over their opponent team just by a difference of two points.

Although Patrician Stars Basketball Club lost their first encounter but they gave quiet a tough time to the winner team, keeping up with their points one after the other but as the last minute whistle blew, Usman Club managed to score 2 more points, wining over them. 

Along with Hassan Iqbal, other who contributed in the first win of their team were:  Hamza Parwani with 12 points and Hamza Khawaja scored 10 points.

For the losers, Elvis Fernandez scored the most points: 13 and Stephen managed to score 12 points. Jibran dubbed 11 points but their points, all together did not earn them the win of the clash.  

Deputy Inspector General Police South, Sharjeel Kareem Kharal was the chief guest who graced the event open and witnessed the first match of the tournament along with Commodore, Saqib Jameel Khattak, SP, Ali Raza, Shahida Parveen Kiyani, Engineer, Mehfoozul Haq, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, KBBA President, Ghulam Mohammad Khan and Abdul Nasir.

Sharjeel Kareem Kharal also announced that DIGP South Basketball Cup will be held at the same venue in the current year with a view to promoting the game at grass root level.

Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Welfare Association (PSWA) have organized the 3rd Commissioner Cup Basketball Tournament which is featuring 13 prominent teams of the city which include: Neighbourhood Club, Omega Club, Banoria Club, One Unit, KBC, Arambagh Club, Licoler Ballerz, Bounce Sports, Beacon Club, Nishter Club, Hunters and Usman Club.
