Hamza smashes seven goals in Polo Gold Cup

Learning Alliance, Diamond Paints and Dollar East/Master Paints won their respective matches in the National Open Polo Championship 2016 for Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.

Learning Alliance defeated Army Remounts 8-7 in a thrilling match.

Max Charlton was hero of the day as he scored four while Ahmed Ali Tiwana contributed with a hat-trick. Adnan Jalil Azam chipped in with one goal.

For the losing side, George Meyrick hit five goals. Major General Isfandiyar Pataudi and Major Haseeb Minhas contributed with one goal each for the losing side.

In the second match, Diamond Paints proved too hot for Sabiha Anees routing them 9-6 to strengthen their position for the final.

Saqib Khan Khakwani was star of the day as he hammered double hat-trick for Diamond Paints while Santiago Cernadas produced another hat-trick for the winners.

For the losing side, Pedro Zacharias was top scorer with five goals while Shah Qubilai Alam contributed one.

In the third and last match of the day, Dollar East/Master Paints defeated Master Paints/Habib Metro 11-9.

Hamza Mawaz stole the show with his sterling seven goals while Losada contributed significant with three and Bilal Haye added one.

For the losing side, Hissam Ali Hyder slammed seven goals while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Sufi Amir added one goal each.
