Syed Pervez Hussain, a longtime sitting steward of the Lahore Race Club (LRC), was elected chairman of the Jockey Club Of Pakistan at a meeting of the JCP stewards held here on Saturday.

Holding managerial acumen, Pervez brings with him vast experience of stewardship, horse-owning and horse-breeding.

Race-horse owners have hailed Pervez’s elevation and hope he will lead the JCP to a new direction in order to make it a body worth delivering goods to horse-racing and horse-breeding.

Pervez holds the distinction of being the only Pakistani who also owns horses in Britain and Hong Kong.
