Captian Sarwar Shaheed XI beat Major Aziz Bhatti XI in KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018
Sarwar Shaheed and Major Aziz Bhatti defeated their opponents in KBBA Defence Day Basketball Tournament 2018 which is being played at Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
Captain Sarwar Shaheed Eleven Basketball Team competed with Lance Naik Mehfooz Shaheed Eleven team in the first match for the day. The winning team started, showing tremendous performance as players did not allow Lance Naik Mehfooz Shaheed Eleven team to play freely to win the one sided encounter by 70-38. The main scorer for the winning team proved to be Muhammad Moeed dipping 23 points with the support from two other players; Zain Ul Abideen scoring 18 points while Talal Ahmed scored 15 points in total.
For the losing team, Ahad Khan tried his best to get the victory but failed with 14 points. Hamza Khwaja dipped 10 points whereas Mohammad Faizan basketed 6 points.
Major Aziz Bhatti Eleven Basketball Team got the victory of the second match of the day defeating opponent team Rashid Minhas Shaheed Eleven on 83-58. It took 36 points each from Ali Murtaza and Taimur Zaheer who top-scored for the winning team with Kenneth Johnson contributing 6 points. Major Aziz Bhatti Eleven Basketball Team outscored the dubs for Rashid Minhas Shaheed Eleven keeping the foot on pedal and entering the final.
However Rashid Minhas Shaheed Eleven team kept on rolling in hope for the victory scoring 18 points through Usaid Saaed while 10 points from Faheem Khan. Wasim Rasool also got successful in basketing 6 points but could not get his team the victory of the semi-final as they fell to the winners on 83-58.
It was quite a fitting victory for both the teams. The final of the tournament will be conducted on 15th of September at the Arambagh Basketball Court in Karachi.
