Newage victorious against Guard group in Dcember Polo Cup

Ahmed Zubair Butt the hero from Newage banged a hat-trick while Shah Shamyl Alam, Adnan Jalil Azam and Alman Jalil Azam scored a brace. From Guard group Taimur Mawaz Khan contributed 3 goals while M. Samir Malik added 2 goals but the contribution was of no use for their team beat Newage.

Newage started the game with high pace as they banged in 3 goal 2 from Adnan Jamil and 1 from Shah Shamyl Alam to take 3-0 lead in the first chukker. In the next chukker, Ahmed Zubair played superbly and contributed 2 beautiful field goals to make score 5-0. Taimur Mawaz then gears up and scored a goal to reduce Newage’s lead to 5-1. Meanwhile, two more goals from the Azam brothers cleared there was to make the undeniable lead of 7-1.

Although in the third and fourth chukkers, Guard group posted good come back after changing their strategy and hammered a team quartet. Samir Malik and Taimur Mawaz Khan fired 2 goals from Guard group and reduced the gap to 7-3 but Ahmed Zubair converted another effort into goal to further enhance their lead to 8-3. In the fourth and last chukker, Shah Shamyl Alam added one more goal to easier the things for Newage. Taimur Mawaz and Samir Malik one more time came to rescue Guard group but just 1 each goal was not enough to beat Newage and Guard group lost the game by 9-5.

Two important matches to be contested today as Diamond Paints to take on Porsche at 2:00 pm, where the winner will qualify for the subsidiary final while Black Horse Paints/Artema Medical will play against Honda Chenab and the winning side will book berth in the main final.
