Shuja Khanzada Shaheed Basketball Gold Cup commences in Lahore
Punjab Minister for Mines and Minerals Ch. Sher Ali Khan, Minister for Sports Jahangir Khanzada inaugurated Col (r) Shuja Khanzada Shaheed Basketball Gold Cup at Sports Complex Gymnasium today.

The tournament started in collaboration with Sports Board Punjab (SBP). Vice President PBF Lt-Col (retd) Naseem Butt, Director Sports Muhammad Anees Sheikh, Deputy Directors Tariq Wattoo, Hafeez Bhatti and a large number of basketball lovers also attended the opening ceremony.
Teams of 4 provinces Punjab, Balochistan, KPK & Sindh along with the teams of Islamabad, FATA and Shuja Khanzada Club are participating in 4 day tournament. In his opening remarks Punjab Sports Minister said that the government is taking all possible measures to promote the sports in the province. “Basketball is one of the most popular games of modern era and we are also making hectic efforts for the growth of this game among the young generation,” he added.
In the opening match played today Col Shuja Khanzada Club defeated Baluchistan by 32-11. Sharjeel Ahmed and Suleman scored 8 points each for winning team.
