Arshad Nadeem Resumes Training for Paris Olympics 2024

Nadeem's recent achievements have set high expectations for his performance at the upcoming Olympics.

Pakistan's star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has resumed his training regimen for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024 after returning from a specialized training stint in South Africa.

Nadeem travelled to South Africa last month to receive expert training from renowned javelin coach Terseus Liebenberg. Over five weeks at the North West University facility, Nadeem underwent an intensive training program designed to enhance his skills and performance.

Now back in Pakistan, the Commonwealth Games (CWG) gold medalist is training under his local coach, Salman Butt. His current regimen includes a mix of gym workouts, strength sessions, and throwing practice, aimed at maintaining and building on the progress he made in South Africa.

Coach Butt is collaborating closely with Liebenberg to develop a comprehensive training plan for Nadeem. This strategic partnership aims to ensure that Nadeem is in peak condition to compete for gold at the Paris Olympics.

Nadeem's recent achievements have set high expectations for his performance at the upcoming Olympics. Besides winning the gold medal at the CWG in 2022, he secured a silver medal at the World Athletics Championship 2023 in Budapest. This historic accomplishment made him the first Pakistani to earn a medal at the World Athletics Championship.

During the World Athletics Championship, Nadeem also qualified for the Paris Olympics by surpassing the automatic qualifying benchmark of 85.50 meters with an impressive throw of 86.79 meters.

Additionally, Nadeem demonstrated his prowess at the 34th National Games last year, where he clinched a gold medal with a remarkable throw of 78.02 meters on his third attempt.
