The Government aims to enhance the welfare of players in the province.

Punjab Minister for Sports, Faisal Ayub Khokhar, announced an increase in the Sports Endowment Fund from Rs 2 billion to 4 billion, aimed at enhancing the welfare of players in the province. Addressing a press conference at the National Hockey Stadium, Khokhar highlighted the initiatives taken by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to bolster sports development.

Khokhar outlined plans to establish an Online Sports Complaint Cell, allowing sports circles to raise various issues, including the lack of sports facilities. The move signifies the government's commitment to addressing concerns and improving sports infrastructure across Punjab.

Accompanied by Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Khokhar emphasized the importance of maintaining and repairing sports infrastructure. He announced the establishment of Punjab's first Maintenance and Repair Department dedicated to safeguarding valuable sports facilities.

Khokhar stressed the significance of proper maintenance, highlighting the neglect of this aspect in the past. He noted that while constructing top-class sports facilities is essential, ensuring their upkeep is equally vital. The Maintenance and Repair Department aims to address this gap by ensuring the proper maintenance of state-of-the-art sports facilities.
