Vigorous Navy team sweeps National Sailing Championships 2020 titles
The Pakistan Navy maintained supremacy in the all three categories of National Sailing Championships held at Clifton Beach Karachi.
The National Sailing Championships 2020 organized by Pakistan Sailing Federation concluded impressively at open sea in front of Clifton Beach Karachi.
Three races were sailed in the championships comprising Laser Standard Class, 470 Class and Windsurfing RSX Class.
In the Laser Standard class of boat, defending champion Najeeb Ullah Khan maintained his top position by winning both the last two races. Muzammil Hassan of Navy also made a strong comeback and finished overall second. Mr Azeem of PAF was placed in third position.
In 470 Class competition after a very tough competition, Rahman Ullah and Khalid Hussain team of Navy managed to win the Gold medal on tiebreaker against the defending champions Mr Xerxes Avari and Mr Mehboob team pair of Sindh at second position. Raheem Dad Khan and Kashif Saeed won the Bronze medal.
In windsurfing RSX Class, Tariq Ali and Qasim Abbas of Navy won Gold and Silver medals respectively. Irfan Butt of PAF won the Bronze medal.
