Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurates country’s biggest ever KP U21 Games 2020

Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the country’s biggest ever Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U21 Games carrying a record 26000 athlete in 32 male and 27 female Games here at beautifully decorated Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar.

Specking on this occasion, Prime Minister Imran said that sports is vital for human beings as good health is gift of Almightily Allah and keeping care of body means achieving good physically as well as mentally as a good mind resides in healthy body.

Announcing the opening Games Prime Minister Imran Khan a colourful remote controlled and colour firework beings with a big bang and hundreds and thousands of athletes part of the Games responded well with their cheering hands. 

He said Sports should be promoted in the province to improve youth skills, and kids can join the competition because life is the name of the competition and the player is the one who is not afraid to losing rather a losing teaches us more struggle. He said those lose they should continue their hard work with more zeal and spirit so to win back victory.


“If I was not a sportsman and didn't learn how to compete, I would rather sit at home instead of compete, not be afraid to lose and win at the end, he said, adding, “live is continuous struggle and one should be fit for it all the time.”

He said certainly nation facing hardship and it would be address very soon and system has already been introduced in each sector only to facilitate the people. He said nation faces a difficult time, they become stronger enough in the time to come. While fingering toward the athletes, the Prime Minister said” “You know how to compete and are not afraid of competitions so I’m hope you would serve the country in a better way and with great enthusiasm because youngsters as the future builder of the national and very soon Pakistan would come up as the prosperous country of the world.

It is hoped that the talent of Pakistan will emerge from these competitions, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, adding, “I want to convey the importance of sports to youth as Sports benefit the health of the people.” Life is the name of competition, sports teach competition, Prime Minister further added. “Had I not played sports, I would have surrendered 22 years ago,” the Prime Minister said

Earlier, all the participating athletes took part in stunning March Past, followed by National Anthem, and Qari Muhammad Faraz recited a few verses from the Holy Quran. The little students of City school mesmerized the sitting spectators with their excellent performances and making the national flag, the ring girls presented a beautiful welcome to the Prime Minister.

The FC Band and Masud Battani dances also enthralled the athletes with some good numbers of two prominent singers Iran Khan (Pekhawar kho Pekhawar Dy Kana) and Karan Khan (So Dani Lawang Ba Jam Khe Wajawa) turned the whole complexion into melodious one.

It is for the first time that such big sporting events taking part. The winners and runners-up will be awarded with handsome cash prizes besides being awarded with monthly stipend to the medalists and top three position holders.

KP U21 Games is being organized in three different phases – at Tehsil, District and Regional levels and currently in the second phase a total of 7000 athletes are taking part in 13 male and 10 female Games.

Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan, Governor KP Shah Farman, Speaker Provincial Assembly Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Minatory Noor Ul Haq Qadri, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Postal Services and Communication Murad Saeed, KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra, Adviser on Information Ajmal Khan Wazir, Chief Secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz, Secretary Sports Khushal Khan, Managing Director Tourism Corporation Junaid Khan, Director General Sports KP Asfandyar Khan Khattak, Director Sports KP (Female) Rashida Ghaznavi, Director Operation Syed Saqlain Shah, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present.
