Dunk, rattle & roll: 4th Essa Labortries Basketball Tournament continues
Omega Basketball Club and Karachi Basketball Club (KBBC) defeated their respective opponents to qualify for the semi-finals of Essa Labortries Basketball Tournament 2019 which is being played at Abdul Nasir Court in Arambagh, Karachi.
Taimur Zaheer scored 20 points to orchestrate Omega Basketball Club's 49-47 win over Akari Alfaz in the first game of the day. Alfaz's Shahmir Zaheer and Syed Bakhtiar poured in 14 points each for their side but could not see their side over the line in a tight contest.
Apart from Taimur's 20 points, Abid Qaimkhani with 16 points and Abdul Rehman with 11 points were instrumental in their teams win.
The second encounter was witnessed between Karachi Basketball Club (KBC) and One Unit Club where KBC prevailed easily by the final scoreline of 57-48.
Zain Ul Abedeen scored the team-high 17 points with Daniyal Ahmed not only scoring 13 points for the winning team but also preventing rival teams efforts towards their basket by playing stout defense. Asad Imam and Abdullah Imam also contributed with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Tashfeen Zaidi, Kashif Sarwari and Hassan were the players of One Unit Club to try their best with 20, 14 and 20 points each in a losing effort.
Both the winner teams have now qualified for the semifinals which will be played today. The first semi-final match will see a clash of Omega Club and Karachi Basketball Club while second semi-final battle will take place between Nishter Club and defending champion, Neighbourhood Club.
