Mallak Faisal becomes first ever Pakistani skater to triumph at 24th International Eiscup Innsbruck

Mallak Faisal Zafar, a 6 year old Pakistan skater secured top spot at the International Eiscup Innsbruck 2019 and became the first ever Pakistani skater to do so.

The 24th International Eiscup Innsbruck recently concluded in Austria which was an Inter Club Singles Competition for Seniors, Juniors, Advanced Novice, Intermediate Novice, Basic Novice, Cubs and Chicks. About 200 figure skaters from Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and many other nations participated in this international competition.

This international figure skating event saw a six year old, Pakistani girl named Mallak Faisal Zafar, who participated in the Basic Novice Girls II category, stunning the audience with her splendid performance that earned her the top spot as well as the honor of becoming the first ever Pakistani skater to do so.  

Figure skating is a relatively unknown sport in Pakistan with no government-supported sporting facilities for the activity anywhere in the country.

Mallak with her success is hopeful to represent the country someday in the Winter Olympics.
