Senior Amateur golfer, Sami Ullah Khan dominates 13th CNS Amateur Golf Championship opening day

The 13th edition of CNS Amateur Golf Championship teed off yesterday where Sami Ullah Khan took the lead of the opening day at the lush green Margalla Greens Golf Club in Islamabad.

 

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Amateur Golf Championship 2019 rolled into action yesterday at Margalla Greens Golf Club in the Federal Capital where the Senior and Junior golfers tried their luck out to emerge winners in their respective categories through their best golfing skills in the competition. 

 The host club's Sami Ullah Khan dominated the rest of the participants on the opening day in Senior Amateur category with a net score of 69. He was closely followed by Choudary Saeed Khalique and Brig (R) Tanveer Rafi at 71 net score, respectively.

While the Junior category contests witnessed Master Irtiza Hussain of MGGC, Islamabad ending his round at the top in gross with score of 75 whereas Master Hamza Bilal from RGC with gross score of 78 took the runner-up spot. Similarly, Master Mustafa Bilal of RGC was winner with net 60 and Master Mohid Ibrahim from MGGC was runner-up with net 63.    

A total of four category competitions are to be contested in this championship which are stated below:

  1.  Amateurs over 54 holes (handicap of 12 and below)
  2. Seniors over 36 holes (over 55 years with handicap of 14 and below)
  3. Juniors over 18 holes (Under 16 years of age with handicap of 24 and below) and
  4. Ladies over 36 holes (34 golfers with handicap of 30 and below)  

In addition to the main categories, an Invitational event will be played among the guests and sponsors over the 9 holes.
