Punjab Basketball Championship starts

Punjab’s top eight basketball teams will showcase their talent in the Punjab Men’s Divisional Basketball Championship being played from today (Tuesday) at sports stadium Khanewal.
Multan Division Basketball Association (MDBBA) is organising the event on behalf of Punjab Basketball Association (PBBA) and a keen competition is likely to be witnessed among the participating teams.
The participating teams are Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bhawalpur.
PBA spokesman said that new talent would be identified from the event which also aimed at promoting basketball in all parts of the province.
“After the end of the event, the top performers will be shortlisted and will be further trained to form national junior and senior teams.
