The City School PAF Chapter, DA Phase 4 & O Level & Matric win titles in 10th Culligan Girls Throwball Tournament

The City School PAF Chapter, DA Phase 4 & O Level & Matric clinched titles in their respective categories as the Culligan Girls Throwball Tournament 2019 concluded at The City School PAF Chapter in Karachi.

 

Sindh Throwball Association with the collaboration of Pakistan Throwball Federation, Pakistan Women Throwball Association and The City School PAF Chapter Karachi organized Culligan Girls Throwball Tournament, into the current year which marked its 10th successful edition.

This event featured competitions of five (5) grade categories which included: 

1. Sub-Junior 4th to 6th grade, 

2. Junior 7th to 9th grade,

3. O-Level and Metric 10th to 11th,

4. A Level 10th to 13th and

5. University Level.

The final day of the event witnessed The City School PAF Chapter emerging winners in Sub Juniors category when they defeated Aga Khan School convincingly by 2-0 while DA Phase 4 stood title winner of Junior class as the team successful claimed the win by beating Habib Girls School on 2-0 score line.

O Level & Matric title was clinched by The City School DK Campus, who edged past City School PAF Chapter on 2-0 whereas Cedar College managed to collect to their tally the title of A-level category out-scoring City School DK Campus on 2-0. Greenwich Falcon University earned the title of e University Level category by defeating Cedar College easily on 2-0 as the final score line. 

Last year, this tournament saw as many as 80 teams who participated and this year, a record 106 teams in five different categories come up front with their players proving their mettle in the competitions against each other so as to earn the ultimate title of this tournament.

President of Pakistan Women Throwball Federation, Faiza Amir was the honorable chief guest along with Maqbool Arain, General Secretary World & Pakistan Throwball Federation, Mohammed Riaz, Sports Coordinator of The City School PAF Chapter, Adnan Vohra, Vice President Pakistan Throwball Federation at the closing ceremony who distributed cash prizes of Rupees 20,000 among the winners of each category as well as other prizes, trophies, medals and certificates to runner-up and third position teams.
