LRFC & Shaheen RFC register first wins in 6th Servis Tyres 15s Rugby Championship

The sixth edition of Servis Tyres 15s Rugby Championship is continued in full swing with 15 teams competing against each other at Pakistan Rugby Academy in Lahore.

Pakistan Rugby Union has organized its main premier event of the year in its sixth edition this time and the event has been named as “6th Servis Tyres 15s Rugby Championship”.   

A total of 15 teams are battling it out for the ultimate title gain in the championship. These teams are divided into four different divisions from which Quetta and Karachi are the new participating teams.

Following is the teams' division:
Division I teams: Lahore Rugby Football Club, Islamabad and Lahore Hawks.
Division II teams: Desert Camels Bahwalnagar, Lodhran, Multan and Police.
Division III teams: Shaheen Rugby football Club, Dunya Pur, Vehari and Kot Addu.
Division IV teams: FATA, Khyber Pakhtumkhawa, Quetta and Karachi.

The first leg of matches being played saw Lahore Rugby Football Club (LRFC) and Shaheen Rugby football Club marking their first wins against their opponents; Lahore Hawks and Kot Addu, respectively.

In the first game conducted in Division I between Lahore Rugby Football Club and Lahore Hawks, Lahore Rugby Football Club played much well compared to the losing team as they demonstrated great footwork and sport skill making Lahore Hawks suffer the loss in the game by a huge margin of 17-5 score just at the half time. But then the game saw Lahore Hawks walk over the game thus the game ended in LRFC’s favor with their first win in the championship.

While in the Division III game in which Shaheen RFC and Kot Addu teams were battling against each other for the win, Shaheen RFC team stunned the loser team with their 100 touch downs against their none at all. It was the result of excellent run and speed of the players on the ground which made them earn this much deserved and huge win of the game.

The other Division III game was won by Vehari’s Rugby team as they edged past Duniyapur recording their first win in the championship as well.
