Rogue crown 2018 Islamabad Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Open C’ship title

Jiu-Jitsu Association of Pakistan in co-operation with the Embassy of Brazil organized the first ever Islamabad Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Open Championship which was held at The Amir Khan Boxing Hall in Islamabad.

Jiu Jitsu Association of Pakistan in co-operation with the Embassy of Brazil organized the very first edition of Islamabad Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Open Championship 2018.  

This championship featured competitions in total eight weight categories for both male and female fighters who were seen competing against each other in the contests conducted for the ultimate title gain in the championship.

Men fighters had their fights in -56 kg, -62 kg, -69 kg, -76 kg, -82 kg, -88 kg and -94 kg whereas women fighters contested in only one weight category which was made available to them i.e. -65 kg.

Fighters from Rogue Fitness and Martial Arts Academy were the ones who lifted the gold belt claiming the 1st spot with a total of 141 team score followed by the Team Fight Fortress Islamabad who stands at the 2nd position with 118 score while 3rd spot went to Synergy Fitness and Mixed Martial Arts Academy who managed 41 score.

Hogan, Saeed Anwar, Mohsin Ali, Shehryar Qureshi, Zakir Abbas, Waqar Umer, Shah Nawaz, Anita and Arwa are the fighters who won gold medals in Blue Belt Nogi Division of their respective weight category whereas in White Belt  Irtiba Ali, Hamza Ejaz, Usama Ezb, Daud Atif Mubashir, Ibrahim, Jamil Rizvi, Ibrahim Muneed and Ali Haider earned gold medals. In Blu Belt Gi Division, Amjad Khan, Awais Ashiq, Danish Rashid, Shehryar Qureshi, Zakir Abbas, Waqar Umer and Jamil Rizvi claimed the gold medals. Daud Anwar, Haider Satti, Ayub Khan, Awais Raja and Mubashir are the fighters who won gold medals in White Belt Gi Divison in their respective categories.  

Zakir Abbas of Rouge stands as the lone champion of Men's Absolute Division. 

The Brazilian Ambassador, Claudio Lins inaugurated the opening ceremony and along with him the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master, Carlos Almeida was also present on the occasion. He was invited to Pakistan for different seminars and training sessions in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Also among the invitees were the Ambassadors of Korea, Egypt and Argentina.

The Brazilian Ambassador appreciated the efforts of different academies in Pakistan for the promotion of the Jiu-Jitsu game and also congratulated the winners.

All the fights in championship were conducted under approved Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) and UAE Jiu-Jitsu (UAEJJ) rules.
