Aslam Khan wins the Pakistan Karakoram Marathon 2018

Pakistan’s Aslam Khan crowned the winner of the second offical marathon of Pakistan held in Naltar Valley, Gilgit Baltistan.

Pakistan’s avid runner Ziyad Khan organized Pakistan’s first international marathon in collaboration with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Senera Hotels through his company Z Adventures.  
This unique high-altitude marathon took place near the PAF base in a secluded trail setting at an altitude of 11,300 feet above the sea-level and was conducted on a major distance of 42 Kilometers - full marathon and a half marathon of 21.1 km for the amateur category.

In 42 km Race, Aslam Khan from Ghizar Gilgit notched-up the 1st position; whereas the local sensation Ishaq Khan remained runner up. Third on the podium was Ubaid Ur Rehman. In the female category, the foreigners dominated and won the first three positions. Caroline Drew from U.K was the first to complete the race; while, Canadian Heather Lee got the second position. The Edit Kiss from Hungary finished at third spot.

In the 21 km race, Shahid Ali got the first position; whereas, Adnan Khan and Nazar Shah won the second and third spots respectively. In the same category for females, Nadia Rahim overpowered while Kokab Sarwar and Sobia Ali trailed behind at second and third position.
This landmark event featured global runners from 24 nations along with 70 members of the armed forces and 30 local runners of Pakistan which include:

4. John Lum Young (Trinidad)
5. Giuseppe Raguso (Italy)

9. Zara Rahim & Mekaal Rahim (Canada/Pakistan)
10. Philippe Waroux (France)
11. David Darton and Colin Lea (UK)
As well as runners from Australia, Belgium, Egypt, Tunisia, Faroe Islands, Poland, Qatar, UAE, Argentina, Ireland, Taiwan, China, Scotland and Netherlands will also participated in event.
