NUST girls win Race Tech Spirit of Formula Student Award in UK

Pakistan's first all girls team from NUST ‘Team-Auj’ wins Race Tech Spirit of Formula Student Award in International Formula Student Competition at Silverstone car racing track, United Kingdom..

Pakistan’s first all-girl from NUST ‘Team-Auj’ created their own Formula car from scratch with an aim to reach 0-100 in 4.5 seconds with 90 horsepower and competed against 30 teams from around the world. They represented Pakistan with car number 199 on the race track.

The Formula Student UK 2018, Europe’s most established educational engineering competition has concluded and the awards have been distributed where the team AUJ won the RACE TECH magazine’s spirit of Formula Student Award. 

The team was cheered with a standing ovation in the award ceremony for being the first ever all-girl team in the Formula Student UK’s history.

The team, comprising Aatrah Rauf Shaikh, Harim Akhtar, Azka Athar, Fatima Sohail, Cybil Braganza, Zoiba Noor, Wardah Jamal, Laiba Rodyna, Syeda Al Aima Zahra and Sabah Zaman, was honored with the Spirit of Formula Student Award.
 
The team finished at 73rd position in the race car design competition.
