Pakistan 1 Snooker outfit through to Semifinal of World Team Championship

Mohammad Asif and Babar Masih of Pakistan 1 cruised into the semifinal as Pakistan 2 crashed out in last-16 round of the inaugural IBSF-ACBS World Team Championship at Doha.

Pakistan 1 chalked up 3-1 victory against Qatar in the last-16 round by 82-16, 68-57, 21-80 and 79-23 to qualify for the quarterfinal of the tournament where they faced the challenge of Wales 2.

Pakistan 1 also crashed Wales 2 in the quarterfinal 3-1 by 64-37, 23-87, 66-18 and 69-39.

In the first match Babar Masih outplayed Whales player by 64-37 with a break of 53 but Mohammad Asif got defeated by opponent by 87-23. In the doubles match, Pakistani duo outclassed Whales team by 66-18 to take 2-1 lead. Mohammad Asif played the reverse match against opponent and defeated him by 69-39 to take Pakistan 1 into the semifinal stage of the tournament.

Pakistan 1 to take Hong Kong 1 today in the second semifinal.

Meanwhile, Whales 2 overpowered Pakistan 2 in the round of 16 by 3-2 with a score of 55-9, 41-75, 53-52, 53-64 and 64-9.
