Pakistan to participate in inaugural IBSF World Team Cup

Pakistan’s former IBSF champion Muhammad Asif, Babar Masih and Muhammad Sajjad and Asjad Iqbal to represent Pakistan in the inaugural edition of IBSF Team world cup Doha, schedule to start today.

International Billiard and Snooker Federation (IBSF) introduced a new annual event in IBSF calendar in collaboration with Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) and is schedule to start today at Doha and Qatar Billiard and Snooker Federation will hold the event each year from now onward.

24 international teams will be featuring in the event which are divided into eight groups. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the next round.
All the teams participation in the tournament are fighting for the prize money of $60, 000 while Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association has sent two teams on the formal invitation of IBSF and ACBS.

Muhammad Asif to team up with Babar Masih while Muhammad Sajjad will be pairing with Asjad Iqbal in IBSF Team world cup.

Asif and Babar were played together as pair in August too while Sajjad and Asjad also played as a pair in 2012 IBSF World Championship. Current National champion Muhammd Asif believes that Pakistan can make into the final of the first edition of the tournament as all his team members are in good form.

B: India 1, Iceland, Ireland 2
C: Pakistan 2, Poland, India 2
D: Wales 1, Isle of Man, Iran
E: Wales 2, Ireland 1, Qatar 3
F: Australia, Hong Kong 2, China
G: Egypt, Qatar 2, Hong Kong 1
H: South Africa, Qatar 1, Malaysia
