Top seeds in pre-quarterfinals of U-21 snooker championship

Defending champion Naseem Akhtar, top seed Umar Farooq and last year’s runner up Muhammad Haris make their ways into the pre-quarterfinals of quarterfinals of the U-21 Jubilee Insurance Snooker Championship.

IBSF world junior U-18 champion Naseem Akhrar easily outplayed Sindh’s Aqib Nawaz in 3 straight frames by (67-36, 79-02, 78-16). Naseem was in fine touch as dominated the game from the start and did not allow opponent to come anywhere near to him.

Top seed Umar Farooq and last year’s runner-up Mohammad Haris Tahir from Punjab also sent packing their opponents and moved to last 16 in the championship.

Four more league matches to be played today to complete the last 16 line up. Others who reaches into the last-16 phase includes Ali Zaman Khan (Sindh); Raees Ali Usama (Punjab), Hamza Aftab (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Usman Khurshid (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Rabish Pervaiz (Balochistan), Fahad Ghaffar (Islamabad), Abdul Aziz (Balochistan) and Shahzaib Malik (Balochistan).
