Shabbir leading day one of Rashid Habib Memorial golf championship

Defending champion Muhammad Shabbir Iqbal with five under-par score, tops the first round of Bank Al Habib’s 7th Rashid D Habib Memorial National Professional Golf Championship at Karachi Golf Club.

 

Shabbir Iqbal with five under-par score, leading the day one of championship in the presence of 105 golfers who are competing for Rs6 million prize money followed by his Lahore Garrison’s fellow Matloob Ahmed with a score of three under-par 69 and Azam Khan secured the third place alongside Ahmed Saeed and Amjad Yousuf from Karachi Golf club with a score of two under-par 70.

The weather was partially cloudy on the day 1 of championship but visibility was clear for all the golfers. With the cutover of final two days as per Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) rules, main tournament of this year is being played on 72 holes from 11st to 14th January while senior and junior professionals will also talk part in different categories. The appearance money amounting to Rs500, 000 will be distributed among the top five golfers of Pakistan.
