Pakistan qualified for Tent-pegging World Cup after 10 years

Pakistan Tent-pegging team have won two gold and two silver medals in different contests of qualifiers, which were held in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia

Pakistani team secured their position in the mega event by showing an awe-inspiring performance in Tent-pegging World Cup qualifiers. After a period of ten years, Pakistan has qualified for Tent-pegging World Cup 2018 scheduled to be held in Moscow, Russia in September 2018.

In qualifying round Pakistan won two gold medals in Lemon cutting, ring passing and Indian file besides this two silver medals in Lance and Sword contests. The teams from Australia, Bahrain, India, Iraq, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan participated in tournament. But only Pakistan and India qualified for the ITPF World Cup. 

Pakistan’s five-member team included Nigah Hussain (Captain), Fazeel Ahmad Bhatti, Irfan Mehmood, Nasir Gowance, Rashid Warraich, Dr. Farooq Ahmad (Manager) and Malik Haroon Bindyal (Coach).

Captain of Pakistan National Tent Pegging Team Nigah Hussain was nominated “Best Rider” of the competition for his remarkable play.
