Imran to fight Indonesian Rahardian in ONE Championship

26 years old MMA fighter Muhammad Imran to compete against Indonesian Stefer Rahardian in co-main event of One Championship on 20th January.

Gujjar Khan born Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Muhammad Imran “The Spider” fights for team Pakido holds MMA record of 5-1. He is fighting in Co-Main event on 20th January in ONE Championship, the second largest MMA organization in the world, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Imran in a chit-chat with media men said that he had no options but to become a sports person because of his poor circumstances as his father was handicap with both the legs and he died when Imran was 15 years old and none of his siblings had school education. He said he went to Pakido Martial Arts with his elder brother Muhammad Shahid, who is also MMA fighter having a record of 2-2 in MMA fights. He was selected on the scholarship so I tried the same way and got success.

He said because of too many senior students in the club, no one took notice that he is also fighting there for the first 3-4 years but he had self-belief and his teacher “Jalil Ahmed” motivated him and asked to stay positive, strong and focused. Imran then got some success and won 5 straw weight championship for Pak Fight Club and also won 3 national Submission grappling events but has not received much attention. Imran said that the ONE FC contract is a ray of hope for him to further his career as a MMA fighter.

That FC contract he belives has motivated him a lot and gave him a new hope of life and career. “For my upcoming fight of One Championship, I train myself at least six hours a day”. He added. “I train three hours in the mornings and three hours in evening and I do cardio, swimming, running and kick-boxing to strengthen myself” he further said. “My first battle is with myself and when I get enter in the ring then it’s all about to keep my nerves in control and fight for the win and my next aim is to get the cap of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) but it will take some time”. He added.

Imran will be taking on Indonesian MMA fighter Stefer Rahardian and for this he is training with his coach and teacher Jalil Ahmed. He wants to become a role model for the youngsters all over Pakistan and he feels winning the One Championship will help him a lot.

“It’s a big opportunity for me and I will fight to the best of my abilities and win. I have suffered a lot in my life and I think it’s my time to show the world that Pakistani MMA fighters can match the potential of others fighters from any other country,” concluded Imran.
