PM Abbasi inaugurates 3rd Governor KP Sports Festival

Director General Sports FATA, Muhammad Nawaz Khan said around 3000 male and female players from seven agencies including North Waziristan Agency, South Waziristan Agency, Kurram Agency, Orakzai Agency, Khyber Agency, Mohmand Agency, Bajaur Agency and six FRs including FR Dera Ismail Khan, FR Tank, FR Lakki Marwat, FR Bannu, FR Kohat, FR Peshawar are participating in 25 different sports disciplines.

He said holding of Games would certainly convey a message of peace to the rest of the world that we a sports living people and games are symbolized with the Moto of “Peace”. The sports facilities at Mohmand Agency, Bajaur Agency and Khyber Agency will be utilized for these games. It is certainly very encouraging that the Prime Minister himself came and formally inaugurated the games, he added.

The games are carrying following disciplines

1. Volleyball
2. Football
3. Judo
4. Cricket
5. Badminton
6. Baseball
7. Table tennis
8. Karate
9. Tug-of-war
10. Hockey
11. Athletics
12. Weightlifting
13. Taekwondo
14. Wushu
15. Bodybuilding
16. Netball
17. Boxing
18. Archery etc.

Most of the games will held in Peshawar Sports Complex apart of five to six Games in different agencies.

Following is the detail of events and their venues:

1. Boxing at Lala Aman Boxing Arena Peshawar Sports Complex
2. Kabaddi at Mohmand Agency
3. Badminton and cycling at Bajanur Agency
4. Cricket at Jamrud Sports Complex
5. Rugby at Civil Quarters ground
6. Rest of the games will be organized inside the premises of Peshawar Sports Complex.
