First ever Fun race held in Lahore

National Olympic Committee holds first ever Fun race of 2018 Asian games in collaboration with Olympic Council of Aisa at WAPDA sports complex Lahore.

National Olympic Committee headed by Lt Gen (r) Syed Arif Hasan has taken the initiative to hold Fun race in WAPDA sports complex Lahore in collaboration with Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

The purpose of this initiative was to develop awareness about the sports in the masses. Top officials of Pakistan Olympic Committee (POC), OCA media manager Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA international official Ms. Elena Chakarova, Pakistan’s Asian Games medal winners, former hockey Olympians, two officials of national sports federations and more than 500 school children, college and university students participating in it.

The interesting aspect of the race was that the female School, College and University students outnumbered male students. The OCA officials also informed the students about the upcoming 18th edition of Asian Games to be held in Jakarta- Palembang, Indonesia from August 18 to September 2, 2018 where 10,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions will participate in 40 different games. It will be the second time Indonesia will be hosting the Asian Games, following the fourth edition in Jakarta in 1962.
