Abbottabad claims All Pakistan inter-board Basketball championship title

Hosts Abbottabad defeated defending champions Faisalabad in the final of All Pakistan inter-board Basketball championship played at city sports complex Abbottabad.

The match started with high pace and it went neck-to-neck till the last moments where the hosts Abbottabad outclassed defending champions Faisalabad by 59-51. The 1st quarter of the match was tied between the two teams by 12-12 but in the later sets Abbottabad team start gaining the space and ended the 2nd quarter by 24-20 and the 3rd quarter by 46-33. In the last quarter Faisalabad team came back strongly but not enough to equal the lead and lost the match by 59-51. In another close contest for claiming 3rd position, Lahore ousted Rawalpindi by 57-50.

Haris, Hamid and Amir remained the top scorers of the match from Abbottabad. Haris scored 22 points while Hamid added 16 and Amir scored 12 points from Abbottabad. From Faisalabad, Maqsood scored 18 points while Hassan added 16.

Chairman Inter Boards Sports Committee Jahandad Khan, Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abbottabad Professor Muhammad Sajjad Khan and former Director Sports Board KPK Tariq Mahmood distributed the trophies and shields. The tournament was supervised by Shaikh Waqas Sethi, Sarfraz Ahmed and Sardar Babar.
