Lahore to host National Men, Women Karate Championship

The 25th edition of Men and 11th Women Karate champion will be staged in Lahore from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th November at Wapda Sports complex where male and female karate players will be exhibiting their skills and techniques.

Lahore will be hosting 25th Men and 11th Women national karate championship from 23rd to 26th November. All the teams affiliated with Pakistan Karate Federation are participating in the event to get the top honor.

Teams are:

  1. Wapda
  2. Army
  3. Police
  4. Railways
  5. Punjab
  6. Sindh
  7. Balochistan
  8. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
  9. Islamabad
  10. FATA

Men's are participation in 7 categories while Women are participating in 6 categories. The players competing for the following categories in Men’s event in Individual kumite, Team kumite, individual kata, and team kata.

  2. -55kg
  3. -60kg
  4. -67kg
  5. 75kg
  6. -84kg
  7. +84kg

The women will show their worth in individual kumite,team kumite
individual kata and team kata.

  6. +68kg

The events will help in identifying new karate talent which will be groomed under a long term plan to form national men and women karate teams. Lt-Gen (retd) Syed Arif Hasan HI (M), President Pakistan Olympic Association will attend the occasion as chief guest at the opening Ceremony of the Championships. Chairman Wapda Lt-Gen (retd) Muzammil Hussain will be the chief guest at the finals and the concluding ceremony on November 26 to give away trophies and prizes to the winning teams and players.
