Pakistan to Face Ireland in Three-Match T20I Series in May

Series against Ireland and England will help to prepare for the T20 World Cup in June later this year.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized the dates for Pakistan's three-match T20I tour of Ireland, set to take place on May 10, 12, and 14 at Castle Avenue in Dublin. The series is part of Pakistan's 12-match run-in ahead of the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies in June.

Before the tour of Ireland, Pakistan will host New Zealand for five T20Is in April, starting on April 18 and concluding on April 27. Following this, Pakistan will tour England to play four T20Is starting May 22.

Pakistan's last visit to Ireland was for Ireland's inaugural Test match in 2018. The upcoming series marks their first meeting since then, with previous plans postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Ireland, fresh from a series defeat against Afghanistan, will face Pakistan in the T20Is. Despite their recent struggles, they will look to bounce back and pose a challenge to the visiting Pakistani team.

Pakistan was originally scheduled to play three T20Is against the Netherlands in May, the series was indefinitely postponed last November due to scheduling conflicts and player workload concerns cited by the PCB. The PCB is actively seeking alternative windows for the series.
