Irfan Mahmood claims Pakistan Golf Fed­eration Qualifying School senior professionals event

Irfan Mahmood’s three-day aggregate of five-over 221 saw him win the Pakistan Golf Fed­eration Qualifying School event for senior professionals at the Royal Palm Golf Course, Lahore.

Rawalpindi’s Irfan shot a 78 in the final round, but concluded four strokes ahead of second-placed Manzoor Ahmed of Lahore Gymkhana and seven ahead of third-placed Asad Khan.

The top ten was finished by Noor Khan(Peshawar), Nazir Hussain (Machi Got), Mehmood Kiani (Islamabad), Raja Arshed (Islamabad), retired Col Rustam Chatta (Lahore Garrison), Asghar Ali (Lahore Gymkhana) and Abdul Hameed (MTG).

The top performers will get a professional card to participate at national golf tournaments.

Lahore Garrison’s Mohammad Saqib sealed the tournament for junior professionals with a final-round 71 that gave him a two-under 214.

Others who amazed among juniors were Akash (Garrison), Abdul Wadood (MTG), Ali Raza (Garrison) and Nabeel Khan (Airmen Golf Club).
