Pakistan’s top golfer, Shabbir Iqbal won the 40th CAS Open Golf Championship 2021, which culminated successfully at the largest and toughest golf course of Pakistan, Airmen Golf Course, Karachi.

On the final day, a nail biting round between Muhammad Shabbir and Matloob Ahmed seen where Pakistan No 1 golfer Shabbir with a gross score of 277 (11 Under par) secured the top spot.
Matloob Ahmed with the gross score of 284 (4 under par) secured 2nd position. While third position was taken by Muhammad Munir with the gross score of 287 (1 under par).
A shot clear of Ashfaq (74) helped him to finish at fourth while Taimoor Khan’s 70 saw him end in fifth place on 291, a stroke ahead of first-round leader Waheed Baloch (75), Mohammad Nazir (70).
Defending champion Ahmed Baig (72) was in a group of four that ended on 294 including Hamza Amin (78), Mohammad Naeem (73) and Amjad Yousuf (70).
It was Shabbir’s title to lose after that and he made sure of it in style, rattling off birdies on the 13th, 14th, 16th and 18th holes.
