Team Eighteen convincingly wins Leisure Leagues 3rd Grand IBEX Cup

Leisure Leagues' 3rd Grand IBEX Cup successfully concluded with Team Eighteen taking home the title victory in the final game which was played at Zawaj Football Ground in Islamabad.

 

Leisure Leagues IBEX Cup Season III finale concluded with a glittering closing ceremony where the well deserved winners, Team Eighteen convincingly won the title of the tournament by thrashing their opponents, Young Stars, on the final score of 3-0.

Graced by the honorable chief guest, Director General (DG) National Logistics Cell (NLC), Major-General Asim Iqbal, IBEX Cup 2019 was organized in conjunction with Leisure Leagues, World Group and Trunkwala family with the aim of promoting football in the twin cities. 

32 teams from multiple cities including Gujar Khan, Peshawar, Quetta, Mansehra and Taxila competed for the winning prize of 100,000 PKR. The two competing teams and esteemed guests observed a special minute of silence for the atrocities committed in Kashmir, and it was Team Eighteen who ultimately won the competition with a great display in the final. 

Chief Guest DG NLC, Major-General Asim Iqbal thanked Leisure Leagues, World Group and Trunkwala family for their efforts to promote football in Pakistan, and also praised ISPR for their support in making the tournament possible.

World Group Chairman, Mehmood Trunkwala also thanked DG NLC for supporting the Leisure Leagues initiative and said such tournaments helped raise profile of football in the country.

Young Stars (Runners-up) were awarded 50,000 as prize money while the 3rd place cash prize of 20,000 went to Shaheen FC.

Best Goal-Keeper award and Best Player awards were picked up by Naufil and Abdullah Shakil, respectively.
