Aqeel, Abid, Muzammil, Mudassir in quarters of Nayza All-Pakistan Open Tennis C'ship 2019
All prominent players comprising of national champion Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Abid, Muzammil Murtaza and Mudassir Murtaza advanced into the men’s singles quarter-finals of the Nayza All-Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2019 at PLTA courts, Lahore.
On the third day of 4th edition of Nayza All-Pakistan Open Tennis Championship 2019, all prominent players comprising of national champion Aqeel Khan, Mohammad Abid, Muzammil Murtaza and Mudassir Murtaza advanced into the men’s singles quarter-finals being played at PLTA courts, Lahore.
Pakistan’s no.1 since 2000, Aqeel khan easily trounced Ayaz Khan to reserve berth in the men’s singles quarterfinals with the final score line of 6-2, 6-1.
Meanwhile, Abid had to struggle in the first set against Ahmed Babar before overpowering him 7-5, 6-1. Looking in top form, Muzammil crushed Faizan Fayyaz 6-0, 6-1.
Muzammil’s brother Mudassir also reserved a place in the last-eight stage when he toppled Ahmed Kamil 6-2, 6-4. Seasoned campaigner Heera Ashiq thumped Saqib Hayyat 6-1, 6-1, veteran Shahzad Khan overcame Ibrahem Umer 6-0, 6-2 while Ahmed Chaudhry outclassed Ijaz Khan 6-0, 6-2 to complete the last-eight lineup.
