8th Essa Lab Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship move into semifinal stage

Talented Farhan Altaf overpowered Farhan Muhammad Ali who retired hurt in the quarter-finals of the 8th Essa Lab Seniors & Juniors Tennis Championship at being played at the Modern Club, Karachi. 

In the under-18 event, Osama Khan of Lahore overcame stiff challenge from Ghufran Faiz to win 6-3 7-5. In the juniors under-10 singles, Sameer beat Eizar in straight sets while Dhuraf Das received a walkover against Nael Mirza.

The finals and the closing ceremony of the championship will be held on Friday at 5:00pm. Nadia Farhan Essa, Director Operations Dr Essa laboratories and Diagnostic Centre, will be the chief guest.

In the U-10 singles quarter-finals Sameer beat Eizar with the final score line of 4-0, 4-0 while Dhuraf Das walkover Nael Mirza. Hasnain Ali Rizwan beat Sameer Zaman 4-1 4-1 while Zain Ehtisham bt Dhuraf Das 4-0 4-1 to move into the second round of U -12 Singles. In U -14 Single semifinal,  Haider Ali Rizwan of Lahore beat Husnain of Lahore 4-2, rtd.

Asher Mir thrashed Saim Danish with the final score  line of 6-1 6-1 in the first round of U -16 Singles. In U -16 Singles 2nd Round Mahatir Muhammad beat Baqir Ali 6-3 6-3. In the U -18 Singles quarter-final,  Dhuraf Das walkover Nael Mirza and Osama Khan of Lahore beat Ghufran Faiz 6-3 7-5 .

In the U -16 Doubles semifinal, Taha along Asher beat Hasnain and Kashan 6-0 6-1 while in the first round of U -14 Doubles Abdullah Aftab & Imran beat Abdul Nafay & Moosa Faisal with the final score lien of 4-1, 5-3. 

In the Ladies Doubles 1st Round, Marium & Natalia beat pair of Ayesha & Noor Munir 6-0, 6-3 . In Men's Single 2nd Round, Yasir Khan beat Houd Azhar 6-1 6-2 while Ahsan Siddiq beat Bilal Soomro 6-4 6-3 and Farhan Altaf beat Ameer 6-0, 6-0.
