WAPDA start 28th National Football Challenge Cup campaign with a victory

WAPDA earned a convincing 3-0 win over KPT on the third day of the on-going 2019 National Football Challenge Cup which is being played at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium.

 
Two more matches were played on the third day of National Football Challenge Cup 2019 at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium in Peshawar, in which the first encounter was faced by WAPDA and KPT teams while the second clash was witnessed between Navy and PTV teams. 

Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA) got a flying start when the team secured a convincing one-sided 3-0 victory against Karachi Port Trust (KPT) in their opening match into the tournament. 

WAPDA, under coach Tanvir Ahmed, opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Zubair Qadeer. Ashfaq Uddin doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. At half time, WAPDA were leading 2-0. 

In the second half, it was such a tight game as WAPDA were able to add to their tally when Adnan Saeed hammered a fine goal in the 57th minute to seal a comfortable win for the Lahore-base side.

While the other game witnessed, Navy team boys managed to emerge winners against Pakistan Television (PTV) players by opening their scoring tally much later into the match as both the teams were unable to score in the entire first half but it was Awais Gul who scored at the 66th minute making in a 1-0 lead for Navy and then Abdul Rehman further enhanced the score line to 2-0 for Navy at the dying moments of the game. 

Today Pakistan Army  will face the PFF Tigers and CAA will have to contest against Pakistan Railways at the same venue at 05:30 and 08:00 PM.
