Furqan "The Lion" Cheema to take on Jahreau "Nightmare" Shepherd in Fightstar Championship 18 on 6th July

Pakistan’s Furqan Cheema eyes on victory against his English counterpart, Jahreau Shepherd in his second professional fight in the upcoming Fightstar Championship 18 on 6th July Brentford Leisure Centre, London.

As far as the betting lines go, Pakistani fighter Furqan "The Lion" Cheema (1-0) is the underdog heading in his second professional MMA bout on Fightstar Championship 18 in London, United Kingdom with fighter Jahreau "Nightmare" Shepherd (3-2) on July 6th.

This time, Cheema will be the away fighter, with the bout set to take place at Brentford Leisure Centre, in Shepherds hometown of London. Cheema is going into this one on paper as the underdog.

To his upcoming fight Cheema said,

"It’s doesn't phase me at all being a underdog. It’s exciting. I'll honor this challenge, that’s what will wake me up in the morning and keep me motivated. I thrive on being the underdog and will embrace it. I could have selected a easier option too early in my pro career but I'm not about that. I want to test myself and be against all odds. I'll go in there with my skills and heart - it's a fight at the end of the day. I'm preparing to beat him up and he is preparing to beat me up. Favorite or underdog - One punch can change it all."
Cheema took a 1st round win in his Pro debut which was in March against known Bare knuckle fighter Dan Hunter. Cheema holds an amateur record of 9-1. Meanwhile, Shepherd has notched wins on Bellator and most recently in April on MTK.

Cheema, about his opponent said,
“I’ve always focused on myself and always try to remain humble with showing respect to all my opponents. I’m not going to fabricate some trash talk just because we’re fighting. Jahreau has competed on the big stage on the likes of Bellator, Bamma and MTK by earning his medals in the fight game so I have to be on my "A" game and that's what I'm focused on. I don't have a game plan as such. I like to go in there and go with the flow, see how the fight pans out, but I'll be definitely ready and preparing for all obstacles and I'm sure the best man will win.”
He also made a shout out to his manager, Muhammad Rizvan Ali, coaches, Jamie Paxman, Tanny Hussain, Jay Hanson and Abdul Rehman. He also paid a huge thank you to his management, MTK Global Management and sponsors Junoon cafe, EFWU, Marbella Cartell Clothing, Natural Remedy, Zeb Driving School, Holmfirth Health Kitchen and Go Tints. A big thanks most of all to the people who pay their hard earned money to purchase a ticket and come to show support.
