Ovais Shah VS Hexigetu | ONE Championship 2019 | 10th May

The King of Karachi MMA is officially making a comeback through ONE Championship 2019 when he will take on Beijing’s China Top, Hexigetu in a Straw'weight fight on 10th May in Bangkok

The pride of Prime Sports Management, Ovais Shah will mark an epic comeback after a long break against his Chinese counterpart Hexigetu in ONE Championship: Warriors of Light on 10th May at Imapact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

The king of Karachi MMA, Ovais Shah belongs to Karachi, Sindh and is currently 30 years old with holding a record of three wins and two losses (3-2-0). He won his very first fight against his counterpart from Islamabad, Uloomi Karim Shaheen back in 2012 by KO, just in the first round but when he faced him in another fight again, he had to suffer a fall by TKO (Punches), a year later. He also won against his two other counterparts, Daniyal Sikandar and Shams Rehman. Shah's last fall up-till now was against Afnan Iftikhar, also in 2013 by unanimous decision. 

While his Chinese counterpart for the upcoming fight is HexiGetu who trains out of Beijing’s China Top Team, which is renowned for being one of the massive country’s foremost fight camps. He made his professional MMA debut in 2014 but though lost the fight by three-round unanimous decision. After taking the time to correct the mistakes he made in that first bout, he quickly rallied to win his next four bouts in a Chinese promotion to build an respectable professional record. Three of those victories came by way of stunning submission, showcasing his elite grappling skills.

Now these two skilled MMA fighters will take on each other in their upcoming Straw'weight MMA fight on 10th May. Ovais Shah's Manager and Owner of Prime Sports Management said, 

"Ovais is one of the Pakistan's MMA veterans. We waited so long for this opportunity. Now it's time for him to prove his capabilities. When you get opportunities after struggling for so long, results are expected to turn out to be good enough as well. Shah will finish Hexigetu in the very first round via TKO."


The ONE Warrior Series is an off-shoot series of ONE Championship, the biggest MMA promotion in Asia, and is run by Rich Franklin. The series goal is to “Help identify and cultivate the legends of tomorrow.” Franklin himself is a three-time Mixed Martial Arts Middleweight World Champion, who has competed professionally for 13 years. He used his experience of the sport to elevate ONE Championship to new heights since joining as a Vice President in 2014.
