KP, Army, Punjab, Balochistan win

Balochistan edged out KP (C) 1-0, KP (W) beat Pakistan Customs 4-2, Army humbled Islamabad 11-0 and Punjab (W) drafted 3-1 win against Police.

In the most low scoring encounter, both KP and Balochistan adopted defensive strategy as the first two quarters were barren.

However, Balochistan succeeded in scoring the lone goal of the match in the third quarter when Ejaz Shabbir struck the goal in the 42nd minute.

Asian Bradman and President of ICC Zaheer Abbas was the chief guest on the occasion.

Earlier, KP Whites stunned Customs.

They took control of the match from the first quarter scoring two to bring their opponents under pressure.

Their captain Zahidullah struck the first goal in the 2nd minute on a penalty corner.

Then their forward Khairullah dodged defenders to score a beautiful field goal in the 10th minute.

Khairullah scored his second goal in the 36th minute to consolidate his team’s position.

Customs forwards tried to stage a comeback and in the third quarter they managed to reduce the margin 2-3 with one field goal each from Ali Aziz and Adnan Khalid in the 46thand 50th minutes respectively. But a goal from Hayat in the 53rd minute consolidated the lead of the KP.

A hat-trick by Noman and two goals each by Abbas, Imran and Umar Hayat enabled Army to humble Islamabad in a one-sided second match of the day.

Noman scored field goals in the 6th, 8th and 46th minutes respectively.

Abbas struck two field goals in the 44th and 47th minutes, Imran netted two field goals in the 21st and 45th minutes and Umar Hayat converted a penalty corner in the 39th minute and score a field goal in the 57th minute.

Sajid and Jahangir netted one field goal each in the 15th and 40th minutes.

The match between Punjab (W) and Police provided real entertainment to the spectators. Both the teams played aggressive game and made beautiful moves which kept the ball rolling between two halves.

Police jolted Punjab (W) with a beautiful field goal in the 10th minute through Ashar Tariq but after that lead their forwards failed to maintain their supremacy.

Punjabians responded brilliantly in the second quarter when they levelled the score in the 26th minute when Mohammed Yasir scored a beautiful field goal.

The match entered into an interesting stage as both team fought hard to outshine each other which also produced excellent stick work. Mohammed Umar scored the second goal for Punjab in the 39th minute.

Police tried hard to level but the Punjabians defended their fort bravely.
