Karim & Gia secures 2nd & 3rd spots in CAS International Karakoram Alpine Ski Cup 2019

Pakistan's Muhammad Karim grabbed the 2nd spot while Gia Ali managed the 3rd position in their respective categories in 2019 CAS International Karakoram Alpine Ski Cup which is being held at PAF Ski Resort, Naltar Valley in Gilgit.

The second day of this mega international event hosted by Pakistan saw Ukrainian skiers coming out the strongest to stand on most of the tops spots as they dominated both men and women slalom races. 

Tsibelenko Levko remained unassailable in the Men's Slalom Category and he was followed by the Pakistan's local sensation Muhammad Karim who managed to stand on the second spot with his talent while the third spot went to his compatriot Nariichyn Andriy. 

Whereas, Women's Slalom event saw Ukraine's unbeatable run as two Ukrainians Tikun Tetyana and Anastasia Gorbunova carried on with their superb performance from the last day's Giant Slalom event, winning both first and second positions, respectively. But Pakistan did not stay behind and grabbed the third spot through Pakistani skier Gia Ali who stunned her rivals.

The final competition of the cup will be held today while the concluding ceremony will be held in Islamabad on 3rd February which will be attended by civil and military officials, as well as foreign and local delegations.

The Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan along with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has organized this mega skiing event of international level this time which is featuring top skiers from Greece, Afghanistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Hong Kong, UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan who are seen racing on the slopes of enchanting Pakistan Air Force (PAF) ski resort.

The athletes are racing in slalom and giant slalom categories and top national skiers from various regions and associations of the country are also seen in action.
