Pakistan held to draw by Japan in tri Nation Hockey series

Pakistan and Japan played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the second day match of Oman Triangular series at Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.

 
On the second day of Oman Triangular series, a thrilling fixture was played between Pakistan and Japan where both the teams showed marvelous performance but match ended at 2-2 draw. 

In the 10th minute of first quarter, Shajeeh Saeed scored a field goal for Pakistan and took the lead but second and third quarters were futile as no goal was scored by any team. It remained 1-0 with only six minutes left in the match.

In the 54th minute of 4thand mind blowing last quarter, Japan not only equalized but also took the lead by 2-1 where Yamada scored a goal on a penalty corner and then Yamasaki through open play found the target. In the dying moments of the match when it seemed all over for Pakistan, Abubakr Mahmood converted a penalty corner with just two minutes left and saved the day for his team as match ended on 2-2 draw.

Today Oman and Japan will compete each other at 7:00PM (PST) and Pakistan will face against Oman on Saturday at 7:00PM (PST) in Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
