Ahmad Baig crowned 35th Punjab Amateur Golf Championship

Ahmad Baig of Garrison Golf and Country Club wins the 35th Punjab Armature golf championship on the final day at the Lahore Gymkhana Club Golf Course.

In the last day of the event, none other than Ahmad was in the battle of title. Ahmad Baig won the biggest title in his 5 years of golfing career. During the final 18 holes, Ahmad managed to hit accurately off the tees and excelled in shot making from the fairways. His putting too was satisfactory and the application of golfing skills gave him a final round score of gross 74 and an aggregate of 214 two under par.

The other competitors of Ahmed were Taimoor Khan and Ashiq Hussain from Multan but they were long out the race due to Ahmad brilliance. Taimoor Khan secured the 2nd position while Ashiq Hussain got 3rd position.

In the net competition in armature section, Danish Farooq emerged as winner with a three round aggregate score of 212. Hassan Samiullah secured the 2nd slot in the net category with the score of 215 and the 3rd position remains with Khalid Mahmood with a score of 219.

In the women competition, Anna James Gill emerged as top performer while Rimsha Ijaz got 2nd and Parkha Ijaz secured 3rd. The net section performers amongst the women were Suneyah Osama (first), Samea Javed Ali (second) and Hamna Amjad (third). At the conclusion of the championship, prizes were awarded to the winners by Shaukat Javed, Convener Golf of Lahore Gymkhana.
