Peshawar Sports Complex (Qayyum Stadium)

Founded in 1975, the Qayyum Stadium is also known as Peshawar Sports Complex is located in Peshawar, the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.It is the biggest sports complex in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

The multipurpose sport complex has facilities for all major sports, which are namely stated below: 

  • Football 
  • Field Hockey
  • Squash
  • Wrestling
  • Boxing
  • Badminton
  • Swimming

Modern automatic feeder ball throwing machines called as training shuttle machines for Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis has been installed in Qayyum Sports Complex, Peshawar.

The sport complex is owned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It has a total capacity of 30,000 and it is located within walking distance from Peshawar Saddar and Peshawar Cantonment railway station.

In march 2016, the provincial government of PTI launches the renovation and beautification of Qayyum Stadium.

In Febuary 2018, Reconstruction of Peshawar Sports Complex had been completed with a total cost of of Rs. 164 Million. The old pavilion of the Qayyum Sports Stadium was demolished and a new pavilion has now been completed containing all the facilities of International Standard. 

The new facilities include changing rooms, sitting area, dining halls, conference halls, office rooms, washrooms blocks, media rooms, galleries, Jawan Markaz, Standby Generator and others.

According to Express Tribune, the directorate has started charging Rs1,700 for registration and Rs500 per month from everyone for any activity, even walking. However, the sports director says the Rs500 fee is to make a registration card.
