Mohammad Amir's Participation in Ireland T20 Series Hangs in the Balance Over Visa Delays

No alternative player has been identified to replace him.

Media reports suggest that Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir's availability for the upcoming three T20 matches against Ireland is uncertain due to delays in securing his visa.

While the Green Shirts have already arrived in Ireland for the series scheduled to commence on May 10, Amir remains in Pakistan awaiting his visa approval.

Sources indicate that if Amir's visa is not processed by Thursday, he may have to join the team in Leeds on May 15 for the T20I series against England. Despite his absence from the Ireland tour, no alternative player has been identified to replace him.

Amir's potential absence has raised concerns for Pakistan's World Cup preparations.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively liaising with Cricket Ireland to expedite the visa approval process for Amir.

It is noteworthy that following the conclusion of Pakistan’s tour of Ireland, the team is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom for a four-match T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
